Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic role based in Calgary. The mechanic will install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including split systems, rooftop units, walk-in coolers, and related equipment. Daily responsibilities include performing diagnostic checks, troubleshooting, completing preventive maintenance tasks, and ensuring systems comply with safety and performance standards. The role also involves interpreting technical drawings, documenting work performed, preparing service reports, and communicating clearly with administrative staff or customers about findings and recommended solutions. The mechanic will travel to various customer sites, adhere to company safety procedures, and collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and professionally.
Qualifications
• Experience with service and installation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and prevent unplanned downtime.
• Ability to work with heavy equipment such as rooftop units, compressors, condensers, and related HVAC/R components.
• Solid troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing concerns with HVAC/R systems.
• Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship as a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic (or equivalent).
• Commitment to safe work practices, including use of PPE, proper handling of refrigerants, and adherence to environmental regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving record for travelling to customer sites across Calgary and surrounding communities.
• Effective communication skills, professional customer service approach, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform field work, including lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
