Full-Time | Commercial / Industrial Electrical
Winter Electrical Ltd. is looking for an experienced Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team in Calgary.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently, understands commercial construction, and is comfortable taking responsibility for getting work completed safely, efficiently, and correctly.
Responsibilities
• Install commercial electrical systems in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, drawings, specifications, and company standards
• Install EMT, rigid conduit, cable tray, BX/AC90, Teck cable, and associated electrical systems
• Install and terminate electrical panels, transformers, disconnects, distribution equipment, and branch circuits
• Install lighting, lighting controls, emergency lighting, receptacles, and equipment connections
• Complete electrical rough-in, finishing, renovations, tenant improvements, and service work
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, and shop drawings
• Perform troubleshooting and electrical repairs
• Coordinate with foremen, project managers, general contractors, and other trades
• Direct and mentor apprentices when required
• Maintain high standards for workmanship, organization, and job-site cleanliness
• Track materials and communicate material requirements before they impact production
• Identify deficiencies and correct issues before inspections
• Complete work within project labour budgets and schedules
• Follow all company and site safety procedures
Qualifications
• Alberta Journeyperson Electrician certification
• Strong commercial electrical construction experience
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
• Experience bending and installing EMT conduit
• Ability to read commercial electrical drawings
• Experience with commercial distribution, lighting, controls, and equipment connections
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
• Ability to lead apprentices and maintain productivity
• Valid driver's licence
• Reliable transportation
• Own basic hand tools and required PPE
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is considered an asset:
• Commercial tenant improvements
• Retail and grocery stores
• Restaurants and commercial kitchens
• Schools and institutional projects
• Warehouses and industrial facilities
• Fire alarm systems
• Lighting control systems
• 347/600V systems
• Transformers and electrical distribution
• Motor and control wiring
• Service and troubleshooting
• Commercial renovations
• Design-build projects
