Shipper & Receiver (forklift driver)

Reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, and Operations Managers, the successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, store, and organize products within the warehouse. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient operations while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Duties and Responsibilities: The Shipper & Receiver (Forklift Operator) is responsible for: • Successfully completing in house Forklift Operator Training • Fill out a Daily Forklift Inspection sheet on your assigned equipment at the beginning of every shift. • Follow Standard Operating Procedures • Co-ordinate with your shift supervisor/Manager as to what doors you would like to load out of and set up by. • Check trailers for damage before loading. If the trailer is damaged notify Supervisor or Manager immediately. • Make sure every skid being shipped out is properly stacked, secured and wrapped. • Load trucks accordingly and accurately. • Report any issues with Pick Tickets (Tallies) to your shift Supervisor or Manager immediately so proper action can be taken • During down time make sure that the shipping area and equipment remain clean and in good working order. (If something is damaged or not working properly please notify your Supervisor or Manager). • Keep constant communication through out your shift as to what you need for your orders with your shift Supervisor. Qualifications: • Previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred. • Strong understanding of safe forklift operating practices. • Ability to read and understand shipping documents and work instructions. • Basic computer and RF scanner experience is an asset. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach throughout the shift. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. • Ability to work overtime or flexible hours when required.
