Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter (FIFO - Resolute)

Description: ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter to join our team in Resolute, NU. The Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter is responsible for construction, repairs, restores, and installs structural wood/steel work and related materials. Working on a rotation of 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, 10 hour shifts, with all travel paid. The wage range is between $35-40/hour, depending on experience and certifications (Red Seal). Responsibilities: • Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; builds and installs door and window framing • Build wooden/steel structures such as partitions, building, office additions, does sheeting and rough carpentry on the buildings as well as final finishes • Perform hand and bench work in carpentry work shop; operate planers, joiners, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery • Repair and maintain hand tools, saws, and other carpentry tools; installs locks, door knobs, and other building hardware • Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; build and install door and window framing • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in Carpentry is required • Must be able to pass a pre-employment alcohol & drug test, fit-to-work medical test, and extensive background check • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance • Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required • Minimum of 3 years of experience, specifically in building maintenance • Good mechanical skills and understanding of building components and equipment • Good communication, customer service and teamwork skills We would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.
