We also understand that compensation is about more than your hourly rate. We currently pay up to 90% of the employee's health insurance premium, providing our team with a valuable benefit while keeping their out-of-pocket healthcare costs down. What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is a technician who can confidently diagnose and repair HVAC equipment while also being comfortable sitting down with a homeowner, explaining their options, and helping them make the best decision for their home. You should be someone who can recognize when repairing an aging or problematic system may no longer be the customer's best option and confidently transition that conversation into a Comfort Advisor opportunity when appropriate. We are especially interested in technicians who: • Have strong residential HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting skills • Have a sales-oriented mindset without relying on high-pressure tactics • Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners • Can explain technical problems in terms customers can easily understand • Are comfortable presenting repair, improvement, and replacement options • Understand how to build trust and identify customer needs • Want the opportunity to increase their income through performance and commissions • Take pride in workmanship, professionalism, and customer service • Are dependable and capable of working independently Responsibilities • Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain residential heating and cooling systems • Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and mechanical issues • Perform preventative maintenance and comprehensive system inspections • Use meters, gauges, diagnostic equipment, schematics, and manufacturer information to accurately diagnose equipment • Identify potential system improvements, repairs, indoor air quality solutions, and replacement opportunities • Clearly explain findings and available options to homeowners • Provide customers with professional recommendations based on their needs, priorities, and budget • Transition appropriate calls into Comfort Advisor / system replacement opportunities • Maintain accurate service documentation, photos, equipment information, and job notes • Follow EPA requirements and industry safety standards • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and provide an excellent customer experience from arrival through completion Qualifications • Previous residential HVAC service experience required • Strong understanding of HVAC electrical and refrigeration diagnostics • Ability to diagnose systems accurately rather than simply replacing parts • EPA certification required • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record • Strong mechanical aptitude • Professional appearance and communication skills • Comfortable discussing pricing and presenting options to homeowners • Strong sales aptitude and desire to earn based on performance • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field • Commitment to honesty, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service Compensation & Benefits • $30–$40/hour base pay, depending on experience and qualifications • Guaranteed 40 hours per week • Strong commission opportunities on sales • Opportunity to significantly increase total annual income beyond base hourly compensation • Up to 90% of employee health insurance premium paid by the company • Opportunity to develop into a larger Comfort Advisor / sales role • Consistent year-round work • Career growth within a growing HVAC company • Supportive team environment focused on doing quality work and taking care of customers This Position Is Ideal for a Technician Who Wants More If you're a talented HVAC technician who enjoys working with customers and believes your earning potential should reflect the value you bring to the company, we want to talk with you. You will have the stability of a guaranteed 40-hour workweek and strong hourly pay, while also having the opportunity to build your income through commissions and eventually take on more Comfort Advisor opportunities.
