Shop Welder / Fabricator (Heavy FCAW / Flux Core Required) Superior Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Shop Welders/Fabricators for an immediate opening in Columbus, OH. If you're an experienced structural steel welder with extensive Flux Core (FCAW) welding experience, we want to hear from you! Weekly Pay | Temp-to-Hire | Immediate Openings Pay: $25–$27/hour (Based on Experience) Schedule: • Monday-Friday • 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM • 40-60 hours per week Start Date: ASAP Job Responsibilities As a Shop Welder/Fabricator, you'll fabricate and assemble structural steel components while maintaining high-quality workmanship and meeting production schedules. Responsibilities include: • Heavy Flux Core (FCAW) welding on structural steel (This is the primary welding process used.) • GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding as needed • Read and interpret blueprints, structural steel drawings, and weld symbols • Layout, fit-up, and fabricate structural steel • Weld beams, columns, braces, base plates, gussets, stiffeners, and other structural components • Operate plasma cutters, oxy-fuel torches, grinders, and fabrication equipment • Safely operate overhead cranes and hoists • Perform quality inspections on completed welds • Maintain a clean and safe work environment Qualifications MUST HAVE: ✔ 3+ years of structural steel fabrication experience ✔ Extensive Flux Core (FCAW) welding experience (Candidates must be highly proficient with Flux Core welding.) ✔ Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols ✔ Experience fitting and fabricating structural steel ✔ Experience operating overhead cranes ✔ Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship ✔ Reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications • Welding certifications • Sheet metal fabrication experience • Experience with GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) • Machine fabrication experience • High School Diploma or GED Requirements • Eligible to work in the United States • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen • Able to pass a background check • Dependable with a strong work ethic • Safety-minded team player Benefits • Weekly Pay • Health Insurance • Dental Insurance • Vision Insurance • Temp-to-Hire Opportunity • Overtime Available • Long-Term Career Opportunity If you have strong structural steel experience and plenty of Flux Core welding under your belt, apply today!
