This role is ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, building customer trust, and taking ownership of warranty and callback situations. If you're motivated by craftsmanship and customer satisfaction rather than commission, this could be the perfect fit.
What You'll Do
As our HVAC Warranty Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving warranty and callback concerns while ensuring customers receive the highest level of service.
Responsibilities include:
• Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems under warranty.
• Troubleshoot complex heating, cooling, and airflow issues.
• Perform repairs efficiently while identifying and correcting the root cause of problems.
• Respond to warranty and callback service requests with urgency and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly with homeowners, especially in challenging or high-stress situations.
• Educate customers on system operation and maintenance after repairs are completed.
• Document findings, repairs, and recommendations accurately.
• Collaborate with installation, service, and management teams to resolve recurring issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and work area.
• Represent the Jim Needham brand with professionalism and integrity.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a technician who thrives on solving difficult problems and delivering exceptional customer service.
Technical Skills
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities on residential HVAC systems.
• Ability to identify root causes—not just treat symptoms.
• Experience repairing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, and related HVAC equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and control systems.
• Ability to complete repairs with minimal repeat visits.
Customer Service Excellence
This position requires someone who can confidently work with customers experiencing frustration due to warranty or callback concerns.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of residential HVAC service experience preferred.
• Extensive troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.
• EPA Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift, climb, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.
Schedule
• Full-Time
• Tuesday - Saturday (typical schedule)
• Available as needed to respond to warranty and callback situations.
• No on-call rotation required.
