Join a Growing Commercial Refrigeration & HVAC Team Provincial Refrigeration is seeking a motivated HVAC/R Helper or 1st Year Refrigeration Apprentice to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has completed a Refrigeration & HVAC Job Readiness Program and is looking to gain real-world experience in the commercial service and maintenance industry. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, mechanically inclined, reliable, and interested in building a long-term career in the refrigeration and HVAC trades. Our work includes commercial refrigeration systems, rooftop units, make-up air systems, exhaust systems, boilers, controls, ice machines, walk-in coolers and freezers, commercial kitchens, and related mechanical equipment. What You'll Be Doing Working alongside Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanics and experienced apprentices, you will: • Assist with service, maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment • Learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system issues • Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of commercial systems • Assist with refrigerant recovery, leak testing, and system charging procedures • Support technicians during equipment startups, repairs, and emergency service calls • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and service manuals • Learn proper use of testing equipment including multimeters, gauges, vacuum pumps, and leak detectors • Assist with piping, brazing, fabrication, and basic plumbing tasks • Safely handle tools, materials, and equipment on job sites • Maintain accurate service documentation and paperwork • Help maintain company vehicles, tools, and inventory • Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices Qualifications Required: • Completion of a Refrigeration & HVAC Job Readiness Program • Mechanical aptitude and strong desire to learn the trade • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work • Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, on ladders, rooftops, and in mechanical rooms • Reliable transportation to and from our shop • Fall Protection Certification • CSTS 2020 Certification Preferred but Not Required: • Previous HVAC, refrigeration, construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or maintenance experience • Forklift Certification • First Aid Certification • Experience using power tools and hand tools What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: • Takes pride in quality workmanship • Shows up on time and ready to work • Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic • Is eager to learn from experienced technicians • Can take direction and apply feedback • Demonstrates professionalism when interacting with customers • Wants to build a long-term career in the refrigeration and HVAC industry What We Offer • Full-time, year-round employment • Competitive wages based on experience and apprenticeship level • Ongoing training and mentorship • Exposure to a wide variety of commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment • Opportunity for apprenticeship sponsorship and advancement • Company-provided uniforms • Benefits package • RRSP Matching • Supportive team environment • Career growth opportunities within a growing company Schedule • Monday to Friday • Overtime available • Occasional after-hours or emergency service support may be required Why Work With Us?
