We are looking for a dedicated Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) to work under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent, with chances to oversee a small team of Helpers, Apprentices, or other J1s.
As a J1, you will be instrumental in the installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. We also encourage qualified candidates to expand their skills into other areas of Amteck, such as low voltage, controls, fire alarms, and more!
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using various tools.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, and conductors.
• Exhibit a solid understanding of circuiting.
• Read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Plan smaller work areas based on electrical drawings and project documents.
• Accurately size wire, conduit, and junction boxes.
• Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits effectively.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
Requirements:
• 5-7 years of experience in electrical construction, particularly in commercial and industrial settings.
• Possession of all necessary tools per company policy.

• Availability for project schedules including weekends and overtime.
• A willingness to learn job-related material through direct instruction and observation.
• A team-player mentality, focused on following directions, cooperation, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical ability, and comfort with reading construction documents.
• Commitment to participate in continuous field training, whether on-the-job or in a classroom setting.
