Job description: Job Title: Welding Instructor / Senior Welder Location: Edmonton, AB Company: Topweld Training Institute About Us Topweld Training Institute is in Edmonton delivering industry-focused welding training through our “Zero to Job ready” program. We are committed to producing welders who meet national certification and employer standards. Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Instructor / Senior Welder with strong multi-process experience and a passion for training. This role involves hands-on instruction, student evaluation, and maintaining high training standards. Key Responsibilities • Deliver practical and theoretical training in: • SMAW (Stick) • GMAW (MIG) • GTAW (TIG) • FCAW (Flux-Core) • Prepare students for Job • Demonstrate welding procedures, techniques, and safety practices • Evaluate student performance and maintain training records • Maintain shop safety and equipment standards • Assist in curriculum and program development Minimum Requirements • Alberta Journeyperson Welder Certificate • Red Seal Endorsement (strongly preferred) • Minimum 5+ years of welding experience • Strong fabrication and blueprint reading skills • Ability to train and mentor students effectively Preferred Qualifications • Previous instructional or mentorship experience • Welding Inspector certification • Experience in structural and/or pressure welding • Instructor or adult education training (asset) Hiring Process Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete: • Written Assessment • Welding theory, symbols, safety, and troubleshooting • Practical Weld Test • Multi-process testing (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW) Important Requirement Applicants must bring the following at the time of testing: • Valid government-issued ID • Proof of certifications (Journeyperson / Red Seal) What We Offer • Competitive compensation based on experience • Growth into leadership and program development roles • Professional and safety-focused work environment How to Apply: Jobs@topweld.ca or www.topweld.ca Submit your resume along with details of your certifications and welding experience.
