Role Description The 309A Journeyperson Electrician will perform part-time remote field work within the Kingston Ontario and surrounding region, coordinating with the Wieser Electric team and clients. Daily responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing residential and commercial electrical systems, ensuring all work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and relevant standards. The Journeyperson will prepare documentation, collaborate on project planning for renovations and upgrades, and communicate clearly with customers and team members regarding work scopes and recommendations. While coordination and reporting are remote, on-site visits to customer locations are required to complete hands-on electrical work.
Qualifications
• Must have a 309A Journeyperson Electrical Licence in good standing.
• Must be listed on the Skilled Trades Ontario Public Registry (https://www.skilledtradesontario.ca/public-register/)
• Strong practical knowledge of electricity and electrical theory, with the ability to apply these concepts safely and effectively on the job.
• Minimum four years hands-on experience in electrical work for residential and commercial environments, including installations, upgrades, and system modifications.
• Proficiency in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems, panels, circuits, and related equipment.
• Familiarity with electrical engineering principles sufficient to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Solid understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable standards, with a strong commitment to safety practices and compliance.
• Effective communication skills for explaining technical issues in clear, non-technical language to clients.
• Experience with EV charger installations, renovation projects, and residential inspections is an asset.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing, and reliable transportation.
