Production Welder

We are looking for a skilled Welder to be part of our production team. The candidate will operate appropriate welding equipment to put together parts with a great deal of precision. The candidate must be competent in using different welding techniques, especially those dealing with MIG welding. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different types of metal and their properties is a plus. Responsibilities • Read drawings, take or read measurements, and execute a plan of action • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements • Set up components for welding according to specifications • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Skills • Proven experience as welder • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG, TIG etc.) • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) • Deftness and attention to detail • Proficient in English • Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program and/or having a Professional Welding Certification is a plus Benefit Conditions: • Waiting period may apply • Only full-time employees eligible Typical end time: • 3:30PM Typical start time: • 5AM This Job Is: • A good fit for applicants with gaps in their resume, or who have been out of the workforce for the past 6 months or more • Open to applicants who do not have a college diploma Work Remotely • No This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is: • Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous • Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction • Detail-oriented -- would rather focus on the details of work than the bigger picture Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $20.00 per hour Benefits: • Employee discount • Paid time off Education: • High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: • Welding: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: • Welding Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
