JOURNEYMAN HVAC /REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced 3rd/4th Year Apprentice, or a Journeyman HVAC / Refrigeration Technician to join our Grande Prairie team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC and refrigeration systems across various commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring advanced technical expertise and a commitment to quality workmanship. Duties • Install, service, and repair HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, and related mechanical equipment • Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools • Weld, pipe, and perform plumbing tasks as needed for system installation or repair • Work with construction teams on system integration during new builds or renovations • Conduct appliance repairs related to HVAC or refrigeration systems • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system conditions • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections • Follow safety protocols and ensure all work complies with local codes and regulations • Partricipate in an on-call roation Requirements • Valid Third/fourth year or Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration certification or license • Proven experience with HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and mechanical repairs • Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and system troubleshooting techniques • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various tools and diagnostic equipment • Construction experience is a plus, especially in installation or retrofit projects • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients as needed • Valid class 5 drivers license with a clean license At Hardline Heating & Plumbing, we believe in doing the job right the first time while creating a workplace where our employees are respected, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed.
