Job Description

Position Summary We're looking for a skilled, well-rounded carpenter who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship across a variety of commercial construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. You'll work independently or alongside a small team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Whether you're completing a tenant improvement, repairing damaged finishes, installing doors and hardware, or tackling general carpentry work, you'll be trusted to identify issues, recommend practical solutions, and produce quality work that reflects the standards of Palladio Building Services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable managing their own tasks on site, communicates well with customers and coworkers, and is willing to share their knowledge with less experienced team members when opportunities arise. What You'll Do • Perform a wide variety of carpentry work including framing, drywall installation and finishing, taping and mudding (Level 4/5), tile installation, ceiling systems, doors and hardware, millwork, finish carpentry, repairs, and general renovations. • Respond to service calls by assessing customer concerns, identifying the root cause of issues, and completing repairs or recommending appropriate solutions. • Complete commercial renovation, maintenance, and tenant improvement projects while maintaining high standards of quality and craftsmanship. • Read drawings, specifications, and work orders to accurately complete assigned work. • Assist with planning material requirements and communicating project progress to the General Manager and office staff. • Work independently or collaboratively with other trades and labourers to complete projects safely and efficiently. • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site while following Palladio's SECOR-certified safety program. • Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and comply with all company and client safety requirements. • Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and coworkers to ensure projects run smoothly. • Support and encourage apprentices and labourers by sharing knowledge and demonstrating best practices when appropriate. What You BringRequired – Competence • Alberta Journeyman Carpenter Certificate (Red Seal considered an asset), or equivalent hands-on experience demonstrating a high level of carpentry skill. • Strong experience across commercial carpentry including framing, drywall, finishing, doors, ceilings, millwork, flooring, repairs, and tenant improvements. • Ability to troubleshoot construction issues and determine practical, cost-effective solutions. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing priorities and maintaining quality workmanship. • Strong communication and customer service skills. Nice to Have • Experience estimating or quoting small renovation and service projects. • Experience leading small crews or coordinating subcontractors. • Experience working in occupied commercial buildings. • Experience with institutional, financial, or property management clients.
