Pacific Western Fire Protection (2017) Ltd. is seeking a motivated and dependable Red Seal Electrician with experience in controls and low-voltage systems to join our growing team.
This position is a hybrid role combining both field service and office-based responsibilities. The successful candidate will perform installation, service, and troubleshooting work in the field while also assisting in the office with quoting, fire alarm panel programming, and customer support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on technical work and contributing to project planning and client service.

Key Responsibilities
Field Responsibilities
• Installation, service, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm, controls, and low-voltage systems
• Troubleshooting electrical and low-voltage systems including identifying and repairing opens, grounds, and shorts
• Performing system diagnostics and repairs at customer sites
• Ensuring work is completed in compliance with applicable codes and safety standards
Office Responsibilities
• Assisting with quoting and preparing estimates for service work and small projects
• Programming and configuration of fire alarm control panels
• Providing technical support and customer service to clients
• Assisting with project planning, documentation, and system reports
• Supporting internal teams with technical expertise when required
Required Qualifications
• Red Seal Electrician certification
• Minimum 3 years of experience in controls, low-voltage, or fire life safety systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to perform service work independently
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Ability to obtain RCMP security clearance
• Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Willingness to participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotation
Assets (Preferred, but not required)
• Valid FSR designation or ability to obtain
• Experience in the Fire Life Safety industry
• Fire alarm panel programming experience
• Experience working with ServiceTrade
• CFAA certification
• ASTTBC certification
• Factory training on fire alarm systems
• Leadership experience or ability to take on a senior/lead role
• Experience with inspection documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance
