Petra Talent is recruiting on behalf of our client, a premier statewide commercial contractor with over 20 years of industry stability, for a Commercial Journeyman Plumber on their Tenant Improvement team in Modesto, CA.
Specializing in high-volume retail, grocery, and convenience store builds, our client offers steady night-shift hours, competitive hourly pay, and a company vehicle with a gas card to support job site travel.
Shift: 3rd Shift, Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM (dedicated night shift)
Pay Range: $28.00 - $36.00 / hour

Primary Responsibilities
- Piping and Systems Installation: Cut, join, attach, and route commercial piping systems including PVC, ABS, Cast Iron (no-hub), and Copper
- Blueprints and Layout: Read, interpret, and perform field layouts directly from architectural blueprints, plans, and isometric drawings
- Commercial Systems: Install and tie in service for grease traps, sump pumps, sanitary waste lines, domestic water systems, and utility connections in active retail and commercial settings
- Fixture Mounting: Mount and secure fixtures according to manufacturer specifications and local municipal plumbing codes
- Field Execution and Equipment: Safely operate heavy equipment such as jackhammers and saw cutters; assist with trenching, excavation bracing, and jobsite preparation and cleanup
- Safety Compliance: Execute all work strictly adhering to standard OSHA guidelines and site-specific safety policies
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of recent, relevant commercial plumbing experience, focused on commercial new construction or tenant improvements
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record, required to operate a company vehicle
- Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read isometric drawings and work with multiple piping materials (PVC, ABS, Cast Iron, Copper)
- Screening: Ability to pass a standard pre-employment drug test
- Communication: Verbal and written English proficiency for daily jobsite updates, mobile apps, and email
