Pipe Welder

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to): * Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in welding, fabrication and assembly projects. * Welds piping spools in accordance with ASME B31.3, B31.8.   * Operates a variety of hand and power tools. * Maintains a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. * Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Will bring problems to the attention of the Foreman/Shop Superintendent or HSSE Manager. * Other duties assigned to meet the needs of the business.   Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in fabrication and assembly of gas processing plants. * Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety procedures. * Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. * Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. * Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.   * Ability to use an overhead crane to accomplish work. * Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. * Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. * Ability to weld piping and assemble the following welding procedure specifications. * Ability to pass ASME Section IX welding test using GMAW, SMAW and GTAW or any combination required. * Ability to produce finished welds that meet the standards of the applicable Code of Construction and maintain a radiographic acceptance rate determined by Veritas Gas Processing to be acceptable for the piping system, job and environmental conditions. * Possesses a willingness to provide in-situ instruction to assigned Helper.   Education, Training and Experience: * Any experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.     Work Context: * Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles. * Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. * Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. * Noise level is generally loud. * Must be able to quickly move arms and legs. * Excellent stamina is required. * Must be able to work in elevated areas.
