The Opportunity This role is responsible for operating a multitude of equipment or machinery in a designated work area or department. Duties may include operation of a variety of machines that weld, cut, bend, roll or otherwise shape metal, and the operation of forklifts or other power mobile equipment as well as assisting in other departments as needed. Responsibilities: • Operating a robot welder with the ability to be trained in basic robot programming • Use a variety of manufacturing equipment to fabricate steel (industrial bends, plasma cutters, cut to length machines, etc.) • Read and understand blueprints, specifications and drawings • Ensure quality checks of products are completed as required • Complete required PM’s and calibrations for their machines and tools • Report any quality concerns to lead hand • Review of finish parts to ensure accuracy against drawings • Follow all safety policies, SOP’s and requirements at all times. • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements • Review of finished parts to ensure accuracy against drawings & BOMs. • Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED is preferred • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience ia an asset • Manufacturing experience is an asset • Able to work in fast paced environment handling heavy loads and standing for long periods of time • Possess attention to detail, problem solving, and communication skills • Able to operate overhead crane and forklift (when applicable) • Able to read, understand and follow blueprints • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure • Able to complete basic mathematics (addition, subtraction) • Able to use basic hand tools • Able to read, write, and interpret English language • Intermediate computer skills • Exemplary attendance record • Willing to perform a variety of tasks Why AGI?
