This role supports the repair and maintenance of a wide range of equipment, including on-road heavy trucks, construction equipment, stationary plant components, and occasional field welding repairs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe work practices while aligning with the company’s Core Values of Commitment, Attitude, and Respect.  Key Responsibilities   * Perform welding and fabrication repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, construction equipment, and plant components * Repair damaged equipment frames, structural components, and attachments * Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions * Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, grinding, and fitting metal components * Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and structural integrity * Maintain welding tools and equipment in safe working conditions * Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements * Work closely with mechanics and maintenance teams to support equipment uptime * Assist with shop fabrication projects and occasional field repairs   Required Skills & Experience   * Journeyman Welder certification preferred * 2–5 years welding experience, ideally in construction, heavy equipment, trucking, or fleet environments * Experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding * Ability to perform structural repairs and fabrication work * Ability to take accurate measurements and perform basic calculations related to welding and fabrication work * CSTS 2020 certification (or willingness to obtain) * Crane and Rigging certification considered an asset * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a mechanic shop environment, including standing for extended periods and working in tight or awkward positions * Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices * Ability to work independently and as part of a team   Role Expectations   * Based in the Acheson mechanical shop with occasional field support when required * Must maintain safe work practices at all times * Must support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety * Exposure to shop environments, equipment noise, and outdoor work conditions when required   About O’Hanlon Paving For 70 years, O’Hanlon Paving, a proud member of The Fath Group, has helped build and maintain Edmonton’s roadways.
