General Labourer – Confined Space Attendants
Irwin’s Safety is hiring Casual General Labour / Confined Space Attendants for a very busy upcoming shutdown season. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work, supplemental income, or entry into the safety industry.

Successful candidates will perform general labour and confined space monitoring duties. Location of work site varies from project to project and travel is often required.
No Experience is required for individuals with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Please only apply if the requirements below match.
Job Requirements
• Physically fit and capable of performing general labour duties, including prolonged standing
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be able to working in dirty industrial environments
• Be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing (including THC)
• Must be willing to be clean shaven (respiratory protection testing is required)
• Must be able to travel (length of travel varies)
• Read, write, and speak English fluently
• Must have basic computer skills and knowledge
• Must have a personal cellphone
• Required to provide own ankle-covering steel-toed boots (other PPE provided)
• Some projects require you have own transportation to get to site
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or higher) is preferred
• Minimum 3 years Canadian driving experience is preferred
• Clean Canadian driving abstract is preferred
• Experience using labour tools is an asset
Responsibilities
• Perform general labour duties as assigned
• Monitor hot work activities and operate fire extinguishers as required (training provided)
• Monitor and document confined space activities (training provided)
• Conduct atmospheric air monitoring using electronic gas detection equipment (training provided)
• Participate in all pre-job and daily tailgate meetings
• Identify, assess, and communicate worksite hazards to supervisors
• Safely evacuate and notify appropriate personnel during emergency situations
• Operate radios for effective communication
• Accurately complete all required logs, reports, and documentation

Pay: $20.00-$22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
Work Location: In person
