Journeyperson Welder (Aurora)

Position Scope: Position Scope NASI is seeking Journeyperson Welders to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contractors in the region. For this role, NASI offers a base rate of up to $45.17/hour as well as room for growth! Where You’ll Be Working • Site: Syncrude-Aurora • Schedule: 14 x 14 (days/nights) 12 hour shifts (paid 11.5 hrs) • Accommodations: Camp is not provided • Work Duration: 6 months +, may be extended • Tentative start date: March 18, 2026 • Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts) • Overtime: Provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week Please note that this is a CLAC position and candidates working under NASI will be under the collective agreement. Responsibilities: What You'll Be Doing • Complete repairs on mining equipment, including Haul Trucks, Excavators, Shovels, and Dozers (CAT/Hitachi/Komatsu). • Develop a work scope. • Fabricate from blueprints. • Complete reports and fill out work orders when required. • Follow NACG codes of practice and safety procedures. Qualifications: What Makes You the ONE • Red Seal/Alberta Journeyperson Welder with 1-2 years of heavy equipment repair experience (preferably large Trucks/Dozers/Shovels/Excavators). • Experience with mobile equipment repairs, ice lugging, lancing, and gouging. • Trained and experienced with Stick, MIG and large wire-feed welders, radiograph, Cooper-heat, Plasma cutter, Lance, overhead crane, etc… • Ability to work outside if necessary. • Strong communication skills. • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal . • Intermediate computer skills. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Self-motivated. • Willingness to learn. • Show leadership skills.
