Job Description

The Tank Welder is responsible for operating welding equipment to repair and/or fabricate tank structures at our client’s location. This role travels across the country to different client’s sites and reports to the on-site CT&V Project Manager or Superintendent for that site. Shifts schedule changes depending on our client (8 to 12 hours/day). The welder must meet all site requirements before being deployed to the site. What you will do: • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications • Prepare workpieces using grinders and other tools. • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment • Perform Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) as required. • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment • Select appropriate welding processes, tools, and materials for each task. • Assist in fit-up, alignment, and weld preparation. • Complete all daily safety documentation accurately. • Work at heights and in confined spaces. • Perform physically demanding tasks, including kneeling, squatting, bending, and handling equipment weighing up to 60 lbs (e.g., welders, hoses, wire reels). Qualifications: • Strong commitment to safety in all work practices. • Valid FCAW and SMAW CWB all-position tickets. • Journeyperson Welder Certification (preferred). • WHMIS 2015 certification. • Fall Protection certification (asset). • Aerial Work Platform (AWP) training (asset). • CSTS 2020 (asset). • Confined Space Entry training (asset). • Common Safety Orientation (asset). • Ability to pass pre-employment and site-specific drug and alcohol screening.
