Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a high-performing HVAC Lead Installer for residential and commercial projects across Edmonton. This is a Piece Pay position, ideal for a skilled technician who works efficiently and takes pride in high-quality, high-speed execution. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the install—from designing the airflow plan and ordering materials to the final commissioning of AC units, furnaces, and hot water tanks. Key Responsibilities • Planning & Estimating: Design ductwork airflow plans for new construction; create accurate material lists and "take-offs" to minimize waste and ensure site readiness. • Ductwork Installation: Professional layout and installation of sheet metal ducting for new builds and retrofits. • Mechanical Installs: Installation of furnaces, central air conditioning, and hot water tanks (standard and tankless). • Refrigeration: Running copper lines, brazing, pressure testing, and charging systems. • Quality Control: Ensure all installations pass City of Edmonton / Alberta Safety Code inspections on the first visit. Compensation (Piece Pay Structure) • Pay Structure: This is a piecework position. Earnings are based on completed installations (e.g., set rates per furnace, per AC unit, per foot of ductwork, or per house/commercial unit). • Earning Potential: High-efficiency installers in this role typically earn significantly above the industry hourly average, ranging from $80,000 to $120,000+ per year, depending on volume and speed. • Vehicle & Tool Support: As a piece-work contractor/employee, you are responsible for your own overhead (tools/vehicle), which is reflected in the higher-than-average pay rates. Requirements & Qualifications • Tools: Must have a complete set of professional HVAC tools (sheet metal tools, gauges, vacuum pump, drills, etc.). • Vehicle: Must have a reliable personal vehicle (truck or van preferred) capable of transporting basic supplies to job sites. • License: Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License with a clean driving record. • Experience: 5+ years of experience. You must be able to work independently without constant supervision. • Planning Skills: Ability to read blueprints and design airflow/material lists is mandatory. Pay: $21.37-$50.74 per hour Work Location: In person
