Job Description
CDL Construction Laborer
Position Overview
We connect people, and on our team that work starts in the ground. As a CDL Construction Laborer, you'll help install the conduit that brings communities onto the fiber network they rely on. This is a labor job, not a driving job: your CDL is for hauling equipment, but most of your day is physical work on the jobsite. No telecom experience needed. We'll train you on how we do it.
Days start at the yard, then it's out to the site to dig and trench, install conduit, set vaults and handholes, run saws and compactors, and put lawns and sidewalks back the way you found them. The work is outdoors year-round in rain, heat, and cold, with overtime when a project calls for it. Our team is growing, and people who show up and want to learn have room to take on more and build a long-term career in telecom.
This role fits someone with a Class A CDL and a background in physical work, whether that's construction, landscaping, farming, or something else. You show up on time, keep a jobsite safe, and pull your weight on a small crew. If you'd rather spend your day outside building something than sitting in a cab all shift, apply and tell us about the hands-on work you've done.

- Set vaults and handholes and backfill with gravel
- Operate gas and power equipment such as concrete saws, drills, and jumping jack compactors
- Drive company commercial vehicles, including dump trucks and the drill truck, to haul equipment and materials between the yard and active jobsites
- Follow safety procedures, watch for and report health and safety hazards, and adjust to changing site conditions and tight schedules
- Help the crew wherever needed and take on other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card, with a tanker endorsement or the ability to get one
- Experience doing physical, hands-on work, whether in construction, landscaping, farming, or another field
- Able to work outdoors year-round in all weather, safely lift up to 50 lbs., and work overtime when projects require it
- Takes direction well, asks questions when unsure, and wants to keep learning on the job
- Treats safety as part of the job: wears your protective gear, follows site procedures, and speaks up when something doesn't look right
- Shows up on time every day and works well as part of a crew
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate on site, read road signs, and complete required paperwork
- Comfortable using a smartphone for timesheets and job paperwork
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience hauling equipment trailers or driving a dump truck
- Experience operating a mini excavator or skid steer
This position requires successful completion of a background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, DOT Clearinghouse query, and pre-employment drug screening, as applicable.
