Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Journeyman/woman Electrician to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience in the electrical field. The Journeyman/woman Electrician will work with and mentor apprentices to complete various stages (underground, rough-in, and finals) during the construction of residential homes and small commercial projects in Calgary and the surrounding area. This role is ideal for individuals eager to learn and develop their skills in a dynamic work environment.
Duties
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
• Lead in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Work with power tools and hand tools to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to understand project requirements.
• Mentor Apprentice Electricians in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing low-voltage work.
• Participate in safety training and adhere to all safety protocols on job sites.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that tools and materials are stored correctly.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
Qualifications
• An advanced understanding of electrical systems is an asset
• Experience with power tools, hand tools, low-voltage systems, schematics, and blueprint reading is preferred.
• Strong willingness to teach and lead Apprentice Electricians during various construction stages.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Strong customer relations.
Education
• A Journeyperson Certificate or Red Seal Certificate is required.
• 3+ years of experience leading projects in the home building industry is considered an asset.
• First Aid is considered an asset.
• Other certifications are considered to be an asset.

Pay: $32.00-$42.00 per hour
