Journeyman refrigeration technician

Overview We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems across various facilities. This role requires a strong mechanical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal operation of refrigeration equipment. Duties • Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems • Perform routine maintenance to prevent system failures and extend equipment lifespan • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints related to refrigeration and HVAC systems • Conduct inspections to identify potential issues with refrigeration units and related mechanical components • Repair or replace faulty parts such as compressors, valves, thermostats, and electrical components • Collaborate with construction teams during system installations or upgrades • Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all maintenance activities Skills • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC, appliance repair, plumbing, welding, and boiler systems • Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately • Proven experience in maintenance or mechanic roles within refrigeration or HVAC environments • Knowledge of construction practices related to system installation and repair • Skilled in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues efficiently • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments • Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and documenting work processes This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional to apply their technical expertise in a dynamic setting while ensuring the reliable operation of vital refrigeration systems.
