Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Install, maintain, and repair piping systems including water supply,
drainage, waste disposal systems, venting systems, steam, and gas lines.
2. Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
3. Maintain and repair medical gas systems (oxygen, vacuum, compressed air),
ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal codes, including OSHA
NFPA 99 and other healthcare regulations.
4. Perform diagnostics and repairs on complex plumbing systems including
boilers, pumps, backflow preventers, and pressure regulators.
5. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plumbing infrastructure.
6. Maintain records of repairs, maintenance activities, and inspections.
7. Lead and participate in large-scale plumbing projects or system upgrades.
8. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
9. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other trades to coordinate
work.
10. Supervise and train Plumber I, Plumber II, and apprentices.
11. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other trades as needed.
12. Ensure compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, and state/local plumbing
codes.
13. Provide training, supervision, and mentorship to Plumber I and II team
members.
14. Respond to emergency calls outside of regular work hours when required.
15. Other duties as assigned by Management.

Atlantic Health System’s Environmental Service Department ensures the cleanest

Environmental Services is responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of
common areas, outpatient areas, procedural areas, and patient rooms, including
bathrooms, furniture, carpet/hard surface floors, vents, electronics and patient
equipment. The team uses sanitizing processes of the highest quality required by
multiple regulatory agencies. Often referred to as ‘the first line of defense
against infection,’ the Environmental Service Department collaborates with the
Atlantic Health System Infection Prevention and Quality Departments to ensure
that there is consistent alignment at all sites.
