Are you a skilled HVAC technician or electrician with a knack for automation and a proven track record of leading teams? We are looking for an experienced HVAC Controls Installation Foreman to join our team.
In this role, you will be the boots-on-the-ground leader responsible for overseeing the installation and wiring of commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS). You will manage a dedicated crew of installers, interface directly with project managers and technicians to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and up to code.
Key Responsibilities
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and schedule daily tasks for a team of controls installers and electrical subcontractors.
• System Installation: Oversee and assist with the installation of low-voltage wiring, conduits, panels, controllers, sensors, and actuators based on engineered drawings.
• Blueprint & Schema Reading: Interpret project blueprints, electrical schematics, control loop diagrams, and sequences of operations (SOO).
• Quality & Commissioning: Assisting with point-to-point checkouts of BAS controllers (e.g., Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens or Trane systems).
• Project Coordination: Act as the primary on-site contact for Project Managers and General Contractors; attend site coordination meetings.
• Safety Enforcement: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in HVAC controls installation, commercial electrical work, or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Leadership: At least 1–2 years in a foreman, lead tech, or supervisory role.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of low-voltage electricity (AC/DC), relay logic, and commercial HVAC equipment (RTUs, Chillers, AHUs, VAVs).
• Certifications: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is highly preferred. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with clients and writing daily progress reports.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
• Ability to climb ladders, work in tight spaces (mezzanines, ceiling plenums), and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to typical commercial construction site environments.
Schedule
• 8-hour shift / 10-hour shift
• Monday to Friday (Standard day shift)
• Occasional overtime, nightwork or weekend work depending on project deadlines
Experience Level:
• Foreman/Lead: 2 years (Preferred)
• HVAC Controls/BAS: 4 years (Required)
Requirements:
