GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Journeyman Electrician to join our valued client's team at a large institutional facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for the maintenance of all electrical services, fire and security alarms, distribution systems, and fixtures across the site.
This role operates within a dynamic, secure facility environment where you will directly support infrastructure operations and maintenance across a large-scale building portfolio. The position includes supervising and mentoring on-site personnel as part of the facility's training program. Maintain all electrical services, fire alarm systems, and security alarm systems within the facility
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical distribution systems and fixtures
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical infrastructure and related building systems
Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to support maintenance activities
Apply safety precautions and practices associated with electrical work in a secure facility environment
Supervise and instruct on-site personnel in electrical maintenance tasks where applicable
Operate specialized tools, equipment, and testing instruments relevant to the electrical trade
Perform duties at various facility locations as required
Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification (Provincial or Inter-provincial)
Ability to obtain and maintain an enhanced security clearance
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 23 kg using safe lifting techniques
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Willingness to work within a secure facility environment, including direct interaction with on-site personnel
Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and shift work for a 24/7 facility operation
Willingness to travel to various facility locations as required
Completion of work-related continuing education courses or certifications related to facility maintenance or workplace safety
Certification in preventative maintenance programs
SMT designation from the Building Owners and Managers Institute
Experience in operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment and building systems
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Experience working in a secure, industrial, or institutional environment
This position is located within a large, secure institutional facility
Tradespersons are responsible for supporting facility maintenance while supervising and mentoring on-site personnel
The role may require working in a variety of conditions, including mechanical rooms, outdoor areas, and secure zones
All incumbents must be willing to work within a secure environment and comply with facility safety and security protocols
Willingness and ability to travel to various facility locations
Willingness to work within secure facilities and mentor on-site personnel where applicable
Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and shift work for a 24/7 facility operation
Must maintain valid occupational certification associated with the electrical trade
Competitive hourly rate of $42.85 to $46.51, plus Training Differential (7% to 9%) and $2,140 annual Special Duty Allowance
