Duties
• Installs, modifies connects, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs overhead and underground primary electrical distribution systems and street lighting equipment.
• Works alone on hot wires not to exceed 480 volts and as required, higher voltage if under immediate qualified supervision.
• Installs, modifies, repairs, troubleshoots (traces and locates defects), loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems fixtures, controls and equipment.
• Determines, installs and repairs building wiring, switches, relay boxes, circuit breakers, etc., in the size, type and arrangement needed for proper and safe operation.
• Locates and diagnosis trouble and determines extent of repairs necessary; plans and lays-out the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity and proper safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems equipment and controls.
• Must possess a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) with class B endorsement.
