LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITY AND AGING (DDA), WEST TENNESSEE REGIONAL OFFICE, SHELBY COUNTY
EPA 608 universal certification is required for this position. A Motor Vehicle Records screening will be conducted prior to employment.
This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Experience equivalent to four years of increasingly responsible and skilled full-time heating and refrigeration mechanical work.
Substitution of Education for Experience: 110 clock hours of coursework at trade, technical, or vocational school in heating and/or air conditioning/refrigeration mechanics may be substituted for one month of the required experience with a maximum substitution of 18 months.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Applicants for this class must:
• A valid vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions.
• Some positions require applicants to be certified with an EPA Universal Certification under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.
Examination Method: Education and Experience,100%, for Preferred Service positions.
Overview
This position will be responsible for performing HVAC routine maintenance and emergency repairs of average difficulty.
Responsibilities
• Routine filter changes on air handlers, package units, and furnaces.
• 2. Seasonal cleaning condenser coils, evaporator coils, and drain lines.
• 3. Performing system analysis to ensure operational parameters are withing manufacturers specifications.
• 4. On occasion respond to after-hours emergency calls.
• 5. Perform various other duties as assigned.
• (Other duties may include basic landscaping, plumbing, or electrical task)
