Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Journeyman II performs a variety of maintenance and engineering duties for
the department. This position works on projects with other trade mechanics and
reports discrepancies to management.
The Journeyman II coordinates work to ensure work orders and preventative
maintenance are corrected in timely and cost-effective manner. This position
also demonstrates competency in at least one maintenance trade and provides
general working knowledge of areas of maintenance and repair. The Journeyman II
performs work independently to analyze and correct problems, determines
manpower, material needs and completes work by expected deadlines for jobs
and/or projects.
The Journeyman II also performs other general maintenance responsibilities not
directly related to designated or licensed trade as needed. Performs rounding on
equipment, and inspections, of buildings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED required. Vocational Graduate required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver's License required.
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrates expertise in one trade, with a comprehensive
understanding of plant operations. Demonstrates knowledge of
building codes, state requirements, and healthcare regulatory standards and
Joint Commission compliance required. Demonstrates knowledge of Occupational
Hazard, and Safety Precautions within various trades, required. Demonstrates
ability and knowledge to read and read blueprints within their trade and ability
to follow service manual as required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation
Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This environment has the potential for exposure to extreme degrees of heat,
noise, dust and dirt, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous
substances, and potential injury. Requires meeting deadlines for completion of
work on a daily basis. Requires the ability to sits; stands; bends; kneels;
climb stairs, ladders, and equipment; has good sense of balance to work on
heights. Requires the ability to lift 75 to 100 pounds and work in a strained
position some of the time. Work whatever hours are necessary to maintain
facility in a safe manner including weekends and nights.

This position report to Department Leadership.
