Responsibilities • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial and residential settings, adhering to safety standards and electrical codes such as the NEC (National Electrical Code). • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations. • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment like ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues and perform repairs efficiently. • Work on construction sites to install wiring, conduit, panels, and fixtures while following project plans and specifications. • Assist in the installation of low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring proper grounding and safety measures are followed. • Collaborate with team members including frame carpenters and other trades to coordinate tasks seamlessly on-site. • Conduct routine inspections of electrical components, troubleshoot faults, and document work performed for project records. Skills • Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems in construction environments. • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and testing devices such as ohmmeters. • Knowledge of NEC standards, low voltage wiring practices, high voltage systems, and safety protocols. • Ability to read technical drawings accurately and translate them into real-world installations or repairs. • Construction site experience with a focus on safety procedures and teamwork in fast-paced environments. • Familiarity with frame carpentry is a plus for integrating electrical work within structural elements. • Strong problem-solving skills with an energetic approach to tackling complex electrical challenges.
