Overview
We’re hiring an experienced HVAC Service Technician for residential and light commercial service work in the Triangle area. This is a steady, year‑round position for a technician who can diagnose accurately, communicate clearly with customers, and take pride in clean, professional work. You’ll handle a mix of maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and occasional light installs, with a focus on quality workmanship and reliable service. Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and appliances.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on residential and light commercial HVAC equipment to ensure peak performance.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately troubleshoot issues.
• Install new HVAC systems, ductwork, thermostats, and related mechanical components following safety standards.
• Conduct plumbing and refrigeration repairs as needed, including ammonia refrigeration systems when applicable.
• Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to repair or replace faulty components efficiently.
• Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders promptly, and communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC systems; construction or property maintenance experience is a plus.
• Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems combined with the ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with equipment repair including boilers, appliances, welding tools, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with field service procedures, property maintenance practices, and basic plumbing skills.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters confidently; experience with HVAC design is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communication abilities; ability to work independently in diverse environments.
• Active EPA 608 Universal Certification
• Minimum 2 years HVAC service experience
