Journeyman Shop Welder

Location: Ponoka, Alberta Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday | 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM About the Role Almita Piling Inc. is looking for a Welder to join our Manufacturing team. This role is responsible for fitting, welding, and finishing steel components used in helical pile manufacturing while maintaining quality and safety standards. What You’ll Do • Fit, tack, and weld steel components to specifications • Read and interpret drawings and work orders • Perform FCAW and MCAW welding • Use shop tools and equipment including grinders, saws, cranes, and fixtures • Complete basic inspections and maintain weld quality standards • Work closely with Operators, Labourers, Supervisors, and Weld Inspectors • Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment What We’re Looking For • Registered Journeyman Welder • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or shop experience • Experience with FCAW and MCAW welding processes • Ability to read drawings and understand weld symbols • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Work Environment • Manufacturing/shop environment • Overtime may be required based on operational needs • PPE required at all times • Physically demanding role including lifting, standing, bending, and working in varying temperatures Almita Piling Inc. seeks qualified candidates who share our commitment to equity and inclusion, who will contribute to the diversification of ideas and perspectives, and encourages applications from indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) peoples, members of racialized communities, women, persons who identify as 2SLGBTQ+, and persons with disabilities.
