Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Ontario Drive & Gear Limited – Gear Division ODG – Gear Division is a manufacturer of precision Gears, Shafts and Assemblies. We operate out of a 75,000 sq ft facility in New Hamburg, Ontario. Join our Team ODG - Gear Division is currently recruiting for a Material Handler to join our operations department. The successful candidate is someone who has experience operating a reach truck and has previous experience in a manufacturing setting. Essential Duties: • Provide daily material support to meet production floor requirements • Prepare containers, crates, wire baskets, empty dunnage and other material handling items for production use • Maintain organization of raw material and work-in-process (WIP) throughout the plant floor • Inspect and verify incoming goods are properly identified; record shortages and reject damaged materials • Operate reach truck, pump truck or other material-handling equipment to load, unload, transport and store materials, as required • Assist with additional product and material movement to support production needs. • Empty metal chip bins and maintain housekeeping standards in assigned areas • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures, including safe material-handling practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) • Report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with company requirements Education required: OSSD or equivalent. Work Experience Requirements: Work experience required: Must have 1-2 years’ experience in a same/similar role preferably in a manufacturing environment.
