POSITION: Mig Welder/Fabricator
STATUS: Piece Rate Compensation System
Position Summary:
Based in Madisonville, Texas, this person is responsible for fitting and welding steel parts together using a Metal Inert Gas (MIG) process. Each job must be performed safely, accurately, and in a timely manner in the welding area.
Also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor.
This is a fast paced piece rate environment that is made for motivated welders/fabricators. Write your own pay check after a 4 week training period. Starting pay for training period is $18.00-$25.00 an hour depending on your experience. The 4 week period will give you the building blocks to be successful here if you so choose. The 4 week period is to show you how we weld and the fundamentals of trailer building. After training you will move to a PPU(Piece Per Unit) compensation rate. Your worth ethic will be the key and where you can make up to $2,000.00 per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create quality welds
• Operating a forklift if required--training on site
• Assemble trailers as instructed by the floor supervisor
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
• Inspect welds for accuracy
• Prepare product to be welded by grinding and cutting parts to proper dimensions
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Running welder at high temperature and feed rate
• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and
facilities.
• Accurately read a tape measure down to the 16th
• Assembly of simple suspension system
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards
• Monitor Equipment and request maintenance when needed
• Cut and clean metal using plasma cutter and portable grinders
• Weld material in a flat, horizontal, and vertical position
• Lift raw material manually (up to 50lbs.)
• Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
• Willing to work 55 hours a week
• Ability to follow instruction given both verbally and in written form
