Learn more about our Transformation Story here: Who we are [https://youtu.be/06OlOQ7Klaw] Job Summary The Plant Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment used in a coal preparation plant. This role supports safe and continuous plant operations by ensuring all electrical components function reliably and in compliance with MSHA, company, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities * Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including motors, MCCs, PLCs, VFDs, lighting, and control circuitry * Troubleshoot electrical issues in processing equipment such as conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, centrifuges, and belt drives * Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance * Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical manuals * Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to support plant production goals * Ensure all work complies with MSHA, OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards * Inspect electrical equipment for hazards, defects, or code violations * Participate in safety meetings, audits, and training programs * Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities * Respond to emergency troubleshooting needs during breakdowns or outages Required Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required * Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in mining, coal preparation, or heavy industry * Strong working knowledge of: * 480V and medium-voltage systems * Motor controls and power distribution * PLC troubleshooting. Programming is preferred * Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics * Valid driver’s license * Ability to pass MSHA-required training and physical exams Preferred Qualifications * MSHA Part 48 certification * KY Electrician license or equivalent * Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) * Knowledge of conveyors and process plant automation * Welding or mechanical aptitude is a plus Physical & Work Environment Requirements * Ability to work in a coal processing environment with exposure to dust, noise, heat, and outdoor conditions * Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs * Willingness to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as required Safety Commitment Safety is a core value.
