Commercial HVAC Field Service Specialist

A day in the life You start your morning reviewing the service queue, then head out across the Hudson, Ohio area to commission and service sophisticated building HVAC systems. Your toolkit and know-how help you bring new rooftop units online, dial in water-source heat pumps, and fine-tune ventilation, humidity control, and energy management sequences. By midday you’re diagnosing a tricky fault on a packaged system from a different manufacturer, collaborating with our engineering-minded teammates to solve it quickly. In the afternoon, you wrap up a preventive maintenance visit, document findings, and update the client with clear, organized notes before planning tomorrow’s retrofit support. We provide multi-manufacturer start-up, ongoing preventive maintenance, break/fix repairs, and equipment retrofit services—delivering cost-effective, high-value outcomes for our clients. What you’ll do • Start up and commission new equipment across diverse applications: air conditioning, heating, ventilation, humidity management, and energy control systems. • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems from a range of OEMs. • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and support retrofit and upgrade projects. • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers and internal teams. • Work independently, manage time well, and deliver reliable, timely service. What you’ll bring • 5+ years of field experience with commercial heating and air conditioning. • Strong knowledge of commercial A/C, heating, water-source heat pumps, and rooftop packaged HVAC systems. • Hands-on start-up experience. • History of mentoring others in the field. • EPA Universal certification. • Your own hand tools and a clean driving record. • OSHA 10; OSHA 30 preferred. • Master HVAC-R is a plus. • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Aaon, Smart Chiller, Samsung, ClimaCool, ClimateMaster) preferred. • Self-starter with excellent communication skills and on-time delivery.
