Talentsphere Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a confidential client for an experienced HVAC Power Mechanic/Electrical (Service Tech III or IV preferred) in the Power/HVAC division. We are ideally seeking a Level 3 or Level 4 Technician with heavy emphasis on generator expertise. Exceptional Level 2 candidates who are very close to Level 3, with outstanding attitude, knowledge, skills, and proven generator paralleling experience will also be considered. Location: Calgary, AB (Calgary and Edmonton area candidates strongly preferred). You will use your expertise to perform maintenance and complex repairs on a wide range of power and HVAC equipment, with a critical focus on generators, paralleling systems, electrical distribution, chillers, air conditioning, and boilers. Working with a high degree of independent judgment, you’ll complete tasks safely and professionally while delivering exceptional customer service. Ambitious techs will have clear pathways to advance into leadership roles within the service department. What you'll do: • Perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and HVAC systems on rental and customer equipment, using schematics and diagnostic tools without supervision • Diagnose and “field repair” equipment independently, including expert-level generator paralleling, synchronization, and troubleshooting • Travel to customer job sites when required for on-site repairs/maintenance; maintain a clean, professional service vehicle • Assist in training and mentoring lower-level technicians • Complete electronic paperwork/work orders daily in a timely and accurate manner • Support pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts as needed • Other duties as assigned Requirements: • High School diploma or equivalent • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record • 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles, equipment, and tools in a shop or field environment • Journeyman Electrical license/experience and/or Heavy Duty (HD) Mechanic certification/knowledge • Expert-level expertise in generators and paralleling systems (absolutely critical – must know "everything" about generators, including breakers, connections, engines, synchronization, and load sharing) • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair a broad range of power/HVAC equipment, including: • Generators (diesel engines 35–2200 hp, paralleling setups) • Chillers (air-cooled) • Air conditioning units (10–50 tons) • Boilers • Pump ends (centrifugal, hydraulic, electric) • Desiccant dehumidifiers (500–1,500 cfm) • Electrical distribution equipment • Advanced understanding of schematics and diagnostic programs • Expert-level diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, electrical, and other systems • Extensive overall equipment knowledge • Must own tools applicable to the position • Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to guide others • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs • Professional attitude, work ethic, reliable, trustworthy, honest with customers This position is deemed Safety Sensitive.
