This is a full time position with GNS Electric Inc.
The Electrician E-4 is an apprentice electrician who serves in a developing leadership role on assigned projects. Under the direction of experienced electricians and field leadership, the E-4 assists with electrical installations and may oversee the daily work of lower E-rated apprentices and helpers.
This role includes responsibility for hazard identification, coordination of materials, delegation of basic tasks, understanding RFIs, maintaining job site cleanliness, caring for tools and equipment, performing basic installations, and supporting general labor needs. The E-4 is expected to model safe work practices and professional conduct at all times.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Secure, relocate, organize, and return materials, tools, and equipment to designated storage areas
Read, reference, and gather information from the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Delegate tasks to helpers and oversee proper completion of assigned work
Complete daily work assignments as directed by field leadership
Maintain awareness of updated prints, drawings, and RFIs
Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing scrap, excess materials, and debris
Assist with pulling wire, lifting, hoisting, and positioning materials
Utilize hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, shovels, and related equipment
Communicate progress, needs, and issues to field leadership
Read and interpret blueprints including branch circuitry, symbols, and color identification
Ensure employees and subcontractors have appropriate training for assigned tasks
Follow all company safety policies and employment policies
Does not work on energized circuits or equipment
Work Environment
Work performed on active construction project sites with exposure to employees, subcontractors, and multiple trades
May work indoors or outdoors while wearing required personal protective equipment
Exposure to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions
Potential exposure to noise
May work in confined or restricted spaces
May work on uneven or slippery surfaces
May work at heights including ladders, scaffolding, and leading edges

Requirements
Licenses
Valid Driver’s License
Active Apprentice Electrician License through TDLR
Education
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience
Completion of all competencies for Electrician 3 (E-3)
