Journeyman Electrician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical systems and installations, with a strong understanding of commercial electrical work. This position requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Duties • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial settings. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures. • Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues. • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations during all installations and repairs. • Work with logic controllers to ensure proper functionality of automated systems. • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently and effectively. • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or necessary repairs. • Document work performed and maintain accurate records of materials used. Skills • Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding schematics related to electrical systems. • Strong knowledge of NEC standards and regulations. • Experience as a commercial electrician with a focus on safety protocols. • Ability to operate various hand tools safely and effectively. • Familiarity with logic controllers for automated electrical systems. • Competent in using testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters for diagnostics. • Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting electrical issues. • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
