HVAC Technician (3rd, 4th and 5th Year Apprentice)

As our 3rd, 4th, 5th year apprentice, you will assist in the maintenance and repair of heating and cooling systems for our valued customers. In this role, you will have excellent communication and listening skills along with a good command of basic HVAC systems. You will be given simple to complex instructions by your experienced trainer, and you will be able to carry out the instructions, seeking directions as needed. Here's What You'll Get to Do: • Conduct scheduled/preventative maintenance to HVAC equipment onsite. • Perform regular property inspections of HVAC systems. • Keep accurate records of space conditions including roofs, HVAC and utilities. • Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, pumps, fan units, control panels, thermostats, cooling towers, etc. • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments. • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties. • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report any unusual situations. • Job shadow with a G1 Technician, diligently learning the skills of the trade. • Comply with safety regulations and maintain lean and orderly work areas. • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed. Here's What You'll Bring to the Role: • Minimum of Grade 12 and working toward obtaining Ontario 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic/Journey person designation. • Experience in maintenance of mechanical building systems including heating and cooling systems. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Self-driven, team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. • Valid G class Ontario drivers license (Clean Record) and meet company fleet insurance requirements. • Possess excellent hands-on mechanical aptitude and the ability to proficiently work with hand and power tools. • Capable of conducting heavy physical lifting, frequent prolonged standing/walking, pushing/pulling, or moving/lifting heavy equipment/supplies, and ladder work. • Capable of &/or possess working at heights training. • Capable of working individually and as a team member. • Strong command of the English language and excellent communication skills – spoken, written and listening. • Possess excellent time management skills, be well organized and detail oriented. • Customer service experience. License/Certification: • Possess or are enrolled in TSSA Gas technician certification designation. • G2 Certificate. • Possess or are enrolled in ODP/ODS program. • Enrolled in the 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Apprenticeship program. • Completion of an Ontario Pre-Apprenticeship Program.
