Job Description

Our client, a highly reputable commercial property management firm located in Denver, Colorado, US , is seeking an experienced and skilled Lead HVAC Technician. This essential role requires hands-on expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within commercial buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort across a portfolio of properties. As the lead technician, you will also mentor junior staff, manage service schedules, and oversee troubleshooting efforts for challenging technical issues. A strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance programs is crucial. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional diagnostic abilities, a commitment to quality workmanship, and excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities: Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAV systems, and controls. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections and servicing to ensure system reliability and longevity. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide installation and repair work. Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment and specialized tools. Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations. Provide technical guidance and training to junior HVAC technicians. Respond to emergency service calls and resolve issues promptly and efficiently. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory. Collaborate with property managers and building engineers to address tenant concerns and optimize building performance. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized HVAC technical program or apprenticeship is required. Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as an HVAC technician, with a focus on commercial systems. EPA Universal Certification required. Valid Colorado HVAC license or journeyman/master license preferred. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues for various HVAC equipment. Strong understanding of building automation systems (BAS) is a plus. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and specifications. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
