Commerical HVAC Technician - Carolinas

We are seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC Service Technician to service and support air-cooled chillers and heat pump systems operating at concrete production facilities throughout the Carolinas. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and mechanical systems utilizing scroll compressors and modern refrigeration controls. The technician will work directly at customer sites performing diagnostics, commissioning support, preventative maintenance, and repairs. The ideal candidate will have in depth refrigeration troubleshooting skills, experience with commercial or industrial HVAC equipment, and the ability to work independently in field environments. salary: $62,400 - $83,200 per year shift: First work hours: 7 AM - 5 PM education: High School Responsibilities Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC Service Technician to service and support air-cooled chillers and heat pump systems operating at concrete production facilities throughout the Carolinas. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and mechanical systems utilizing scroll compressors and modern refrigeration controls. The technician will work directly at customer sites performing diagnostics, commissioning support, preventative maintenance, and repairs. The ideal candidate will have in depth refrigeration troubleshooting skills, experience with commercial or industrial HVAC equipment, and the ability to work independently in field environments. Key Responsibilities Service & Troubleshooting • Diagnose and repair air-cooled chillers and heat pump systems • Troubleshoot refrigeration circuits utilizing scroll compressors • Identify and repair issues with TXVs, solenoids, pressure controls, and refrigeration components • Diagnose electrical and control system faults • Perform system performance evaluations including superheat, subcooling, and system pressures Equipment Serviced • Air-cooled chillers • Air-source heat pumps • Systems utilizing scroll compressors • Refrigeration systems using modern refrigerants such as R-410A, R-454B, or similar The essential functions of this role include: • wearing steel toe shoes • working in a non-temperature controlled environment • manual lifting up to 50lbs Skills • Mechanical Maintenance • Air-cooled chillers • Air-source heat pumps • scroll compressors • Refrigeration • Commercial HVAC • troubleshooting • Blueprints • electrical schematics • EPA Refrigerant Certification • heat pump systems • VFDs • PLC • preventative maintenance • pressure controls • industrial equipment • outdoor installations • mechanical systems • electrical systems Qualifications • Years of experience: 5 years • Experience level: Experienced Randstad is a world leader in matching great people with great companies.
