Key responsibilities include: Assisting journeyman electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Learning to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Properly using hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment. Pulling electrical wires and cables through conduits and raceways. Installing electrical components such as switches, outlets, light fixtures, and control panels. Understanding and adhering to all safety regulations and codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). Participating actively in all assigned training sessions and coursework. Maintaining a clean and organized worksite. Troubleshooting electrical issues under supervision.
