Journeyman Plumber City of Odessa – Building Services Department The City of Odessa is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to repair, maintain, and install plumbing systems across City-owned facilities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations of our buildings and requires availability for 24-hour on-call support. Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in City facilities Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance Maintain accurate service and equipment records Apply for and finalize plumbing permits Respond to emergency situations as needed Support departmental operations with reliability and professionalism Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED 5+ years of plumbing installation and maintenance experience Valid Texas State Driver’s License Texas State Journeyman Plumber License (required) Knowledge & Skills: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals Strong troubleshooting and communication skills Safe and skilled use of plumbing tools and equipment Knowledge of hazards and proper safety precautions Additional Requirements: Must pass an FBI criminal background fingerprint check (CJIS standards) City-approved safety shoes required Join us in keeping Odessa running strong!
