Commercial HVAC Technician / Apprentice (Vernon)

Care Systems is expanding its footprint throughout the Okanagan, and we are looking for a dedicated HVAC professional to join our Vernon-based service department. Whether you are a seasoned Journeyperson or an ambitious 2nd–4th year Apprentice, this role offers a diverse workload across commercial and light industrial sectors. You will work with cutting-edge building automation and modern HVAC technologies in a stable, growth-oriented environment. The Opportunity In this role, you won't just be "turning wrenches." You will be part of a technical team managing complex service, preventative maintenance, and specialized project support. Core Responsibilities • System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot, service, and maintain commercial HVAC/R systems. • Project Support: Assist with equipment retrofits, including piping and ductwork installations. • Technical Reporting: Maintain precise digital work orders and service documentation. • Client Relations: Act as a professional point of contact for customers on-site. • Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to rigorous safety protocols and keep service vehicles/tools in top condition. • Availability: Participation in an on-call rotation and regional travel as needed. Who We Are Looking For For the Journeyperson: • Valid Red Seal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic certification. • Proven background in commercial service and electrical troubleshooting. • Bonus: Gasfitter or FSR certifications. For the Apprentice (2nd Year+): • Active registration in a recognized RACM apprenticeship. • A "hands-on" mindset with a desire to master complex mechanical diagnostics. • The ability to follow direction while trending toward independent work. Essential Requirements • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Clean Abstract). • Strong verbal and written English communication skills. • Physical capability to handle ladders, rooftops, and varied weather conditions. • Successful completion of a criminal record check.
