ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Benchmark International is an Edmonton-based manufacturer. We manufacture a variety of products, including gas separation equipment and oil monitoring equipment. Our products are used by customers around the world. We are seeking a certified Journeyman Electrician with strong industrial experience to support our growing Manufacturing team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the installation, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems. You will bring advanced trade knowledge and practical experience in industrial environments to ensure equipment is built and serviced to the highest quality and safety standards. You will work with both low and high voltage systems, interpret complex drawings and specifications, diagnose faults, and complete repairs independently. This role plays a key part in ensuring product performance, reliability, and compliance with all applicable codes and safety standards.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
These are the types of things you can expect to be involved with on a daily basis:
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders
• Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
• Splice, join, and connect wires to fixtures and components
• Install, replace, and repair faulty electrical components of machines and equipment
• Diagnose, test, and measure voltage, loads, and other malfunctioning apparatus
• Assemble, modify, and install electrical panels, motors, VFDs, instrumentation, and control systems
• Conduct equipment testing and complete accurate reporting of defects and deficiencies
• Perform timely maintenance services and quality repairs
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, policies, and applicable electrical codes
• Set up and operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Maintain accurate documentation and service records
• Keep track of materials, tools, and equipment, and notify supervisor of shortages
• Support assembly and fabrication personnel as required
• Perform manual labor as required in a manufacturing environment
• Wear proper PPE at all times
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Above all else, we are looking for a genuine person who wants to work for a company that cares about its employees and their well-being. It would be great if you had the following qualifications:
• Valid Alberta Journeyman Electrician Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician Certificate
• Industrial electrical experience
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and safe work practices
• Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical and equipment issues independently
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Primarily indoor work in a manufacturing setting
• Hazards associated with working in a fabrication shop (i.e. noise, machinery, electrical systems)
• Occasional lifting, bending, climbing, and other physical demands consistent with industrial electrical work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
